A 90-year-old man from Umpqua was cited on several charges after Roseburg Police allege his vehicle hit seven others during two separate wrecks on Friday afternoon. A report from Roseburg Police says that a car driven by Alden Pakros hit two vehicles in the intersection of Stewart Parkway and Mercy Drive just before 1:00 p.m. Police say the man fled the scene going sixty to eighty miles per hour southbound on Stewart Parkway. Moments later Pakro’s car reportedly collided with five other vehicles near the intersection leading to both Walmart and the Roseburg Valley Mall. Pakros and a passenger in one of the vehicles were taken to Mercy Medical Center. Pakros is listed in good condition.
Alden Pakros was cited for reckless driving, hit and run, driving while suspended, and for driving uninsured. He was cited and released by Roseburg Police. The accident clogged up traffic in the area for about an hour, as numerous tow trucks were needed to take most of the vehicles away.
